I read a lot of reviews and looked at the backgrounds of many doctors before deciding to take my frail 80yr old mother-in-law, currently struggling with cognitive issues, to Doctor Calmes. I am SO glad that I chose him!
Professionally: He is very knowledgeable and was very thorough and gentle in the physical exam! He took his time in asking questions during the evaluation and would restate them when needed to help her better understand the question. He got a lot of info and allowed me time to give explanations of her history & current state that you cannot write down on the medical forms that you fill out at Dr.'s offices. He wrote down what I shared. He is having his nurse to gather all of the reports from the doctors that my MIL has seen so that he can thoroughly investigate their findings before her next appointment.
Personally: He was very kind! Excellent bed-side-manner! It seemed as though he genuinely cared about my mother-in-law, and he treated her as though she were his own mother! He is not arrogant and treated me as a valuable source of information not as a layman with no sense – something that too many doctors do in their arrogance.
My mother-in-law and I both left the appointment with much peace and confidence in Dr. Calmes! I wish all doctors could be like him!

Horrible to their patients. Made an appointment and they waited until the day before to say I needed a different referral to be able to be seen. Got the referral called to see what was going on and Celeste said we'll we won't be seeing you because you did a no call no show on your last appointment. What appointment you told me I couldn't come without a referral from a doctor so I said okay I will get the referral. Got the referral but no call no show because yall told me I couldn't come Ridiculous. What a joke it took 6 months to wait for the first appointment. You could have called any time in those 6 months to say hey we need a different referral. But you waited for the day before and then said I couldn't come that day so.... the appointment was canceled then. They don't want anymore patients. Don't try getting in here.

I have had 5 previous Rheumatologists that have all contradicted each other in my diagnoses. I have become wary and angered at not getting definate answers that I can rely on being correct. I was referred to Dr. Calmes by my niece who raved about his professionalism and accuracy. I read reviews on Dr. Calmes and felt he was the doctor for me. I have seen Dr. Calmes twice so far and have been impressed with his character, professionalism, bedside manner and expertise. Dr. Calmes started all over with my diagnosis, ran every lab and test imaginable and gave me a clearer picture of my health. I would highly recommend Dr. Calmes.
