I’m leaving a 1-star review due to my frustrating experience with highview apartments. I moved out of the apartment and received a charge for a desk that is still in the apartment, which seems completely unfair. I called the office and informed them that the desk is still there, and asked that I respond via email. When I responded I never received a response, but then I suddenly receive a warning saying they are going to send me to collections. I've learned that I'm not the only one who has faced this issue—many others have reported similar problems.

Additionally, they towed my car even though I was a resident, which was incredibly frustrating and added to my overall negative experience. This lack of accountability is disappointing. I hope future tenants are aware of these practices before signing a lease.

My son was moved into a 4 bedroom apartment 2 years ago. It was dirty, mold, bathroom looked like the previous person never cleaned and Highview did not bother to clean it before move in.

His other two roommates were dealing with the same situation and all parents were helping clean the space to make it livable. We are talking filth! We contacted management all they could say was sorry. It is unacceptable. They schedule times for move in, you would assume they know if an apartment is clean or not.

Absolutely disgusting. I helped him move out recently and his room was left spotless. He moved out on time and locked up his room, turned in keys to office.

He then received a bill, stating that the one chair was missing out of his room and that it would cost $75.

My son called them to let them know it was in the apartment in the living room right outside of his room. He had accidentally left it outside of the room in the living room. Management located it and then said that they were still charging due to sun damage.

This chair was an old chair when he moved in. This chair was in his room and he used HIS OWN gaming chair and never the one they provided.

No sun ever hit that chair. He asked for proof and they sent him what looks like the same old chair that was in that room when he moved in. The faded fabric is from sitting since its a cheap chair. But the chair is fully functional. Not broken. Just old, like it was when he moved in two years ago since he never used it.

They told him unless he had a photo to show the chairs condition when he moved in, that they could not do anything and that they would send him to collections.

Considering the apartment had not been painted in years when he moved in, old carpet, the ventilation is filthy, dark lint gathers quickly even on baseboards from the filthy vents system. The stairways, outside of doors etc, are not maintained. Very dirty.

They also charged him $35. for a broken blind. The blinds are the cheapest and again, they were already old when he moved in.
My son paid out of fear they would send him to collections. But these student housing companies are a racket.

They increase rent at every renewal and have them move out a week before the end of month, as if they are going to come in a repair, paint, change carpeting etc, and they never do!

Parents, you are better off going outside of student housing like my son just did. He was shocked his apartment, was clean, new carpet, clean bathroom and kitchen, great security and management.

Student housing is a big ole racket to take your money and never add any value to the students who are taking out of their slim budgets to have a place to live. They take advantage of these young adults.

Terrible experience 2 years in a row. My daughter was put in a filthy apartment infested with roaches. It took several days and hundreds of dollars to clean and the smell never went away, nor did the roaches. The apartment complex condones illegal drug use and will charge $500 if you ask to be moved away from a drug addict. The complex will promise changes and when it comes time say that they are a business and don’t rely on promises. Very uneducated and immature staff who do not care about your wellbeing. Managers will not take the time to call you back or address issues.

Moved in a month ago and still do not have my mail key, bedroom key or parking decal. I have expressed my concerns multiple times to the front office and nothing has changed. I have gotten 3 parking citations because my parking pass was misplaced in the mail ( since I have no access to mail!)
The property has also not been maintained, there are no weights in the gym room!
we were advertised a yoga room and a month later I have yet to see one.

The worst of all is come labor day me and my roommate were not able to enjoy this national holiday by the pool because it was green and filled with debris!!! (pictures below)

This review is 5 stars for Alisha - not the apartment.
She helped me with leasing / lease takeovers. I emailed her no less than 100 times over the few months of me staying here. She answered every question I had before signing the lease, was responsive, keeps you up to date, and keeps it real with you. She exhibited the upmost patience with me while I was trying to get things sorted out, & explained everything to me as well which I appreciated more than anything.

The apartment itself is pretty Ight. I wasn’t there for long. Could use some updating but for a college kid, its pretty choice when it comes to accommodations. Didn’t see any bugs, the shared spaces are nice, and I got a good price. Subletting can be difficult since you’re responsible for finding someone yourself to take over the lease, and they have to go through an approval process. So I’d just recommend being mindful of that when leasing. Overall it’s a pretty nice apartment though.

Thanks again for all your help Alisha. I hope they give you a raise this year.

Now that I have established myself as far as possible from this trash heap and gotten my security deposit I can write a review.

DO NOT rent here!

Massive bug problems. I'm convinced they're living and breeding in the bar and it needs to be replaced or hell, bug bomb the place [twice at minimum].

They will also tow disabled people's cars but won't tow people without disabilities in handicap spots. They also won't allow visitors with disabilities to park closer to the unit buildings so if you have walking difficulties you will either have to walk down multiple ramps (one that doesn't have a way on it), down a steep hill, or better yet, don't visit at all.

You are better off taking your $500-700 and living in a camp site and buy a gym membership or just live with your parents (if they allow it). I actually considered it at one point.

Can't say anything about the gym or pool given that the roach problem gave me the idea that those amenities were most likely just as disgusting.

That's just the screaming objective issues. There's probably worse but I didn't bother exploring the three story shack complex with what I was seeing in my own unit.

Edit 1: Upon reading some of the other reviews you'll notice on some of them that the complex management will reply with "we have no record of [insert reviewer here]--". As funny as that is, it shows that either they are stupid in believing people don't use anonymous names online or it's a tactic to de-legitimize real issues that these people have which sounds more likely. Keep that in mind when you read these reviews or make one.

‼️DO NOT MOVE HERE(Not For Students)‼️

I must say I am extremely disappointed with the management and service at this place. I've encountered numerous issues that have left me frustrated and dissatisfied. The problems seem to stem from a lack of care and responsibility from the management team.
Firstly, the service for repairing broken items has been consistently tardy. Whenever something breaks in my unit, it takes an eternity for them to address the issue. This has resulted in inconvenience and discomfort, which is unacceptable for a place that charges premium rates.
Moreover, the condition of the furniture provided, particularly the sofas, is appalling. The sofas are uncomfortable and visibly worn out. It feels like the management doesn't bother to invest in maintaining the basic comfort and aesthetics of the living spaces.
The gym facilities are also a disappointment. Many pieces of equipment are broken and unusable. It's not only inconvenient but also raises concerns about the safety standards they are maintaining.

In summary, I cannot recommend this place due to its bad management and poor service. It's evident that the management is neglecting the residents' needs and failing to maintain the property adequately. I strongly advise potential renters to look elsewhere for a place where their comfort and well-being are genuinely prioritized.
