I traveled to visit my family in Montrose from Colorado Springs. My car broke down off of Townsend Rd. A mechanic from Hi-Tech Auto Body pulled over and offered to help. They towed it to their shop. They had it from Sunday to Wednesday afternoon. I was told every day that "it will be ready tomorrow." They finally told me it was fixed and to come pick it up. I arrived at the "shop" which is really just a house with a dirt lot in front of it and was told my car was actually not fixed at all and needs a new transmission now. My car is now filthy and I am having it towed to another shop. These people are not trust worthy at all. Please do not leave your vehicle with these people.

The one positive is that they didn’t turn me away within having to deal with my very difficult insurance (full coverage) that had caused other body-shops to not want to handle my vehicle repair following an accident. With that being said save yourself the headache! After having my vehicle for 3 months (Jan.- March) to complete repairs, my paint is very clearly dripped as well as has an orange peal texture, various panels/ trim are not aligned, the trim is marked up with odd texture, the paint is now pealing around the trim where it was overworked, the hood is not aligned, and there is now what appears to be a pellet/ small caliber bullet indent/ paint damage that wasn’t there previously. I complained and they gave me my $500 deductible back. However, upon taking it to the dealership for membership routine maintenance, I was informed that their poorly done work had deprivation my vehicles value by over $5000 easily, so I would’ve rather just paid my deductible and had my vehicle repaired correctly with integrity. Now, I’m stuck figuring out who to take it to that is trust worthy and cover the cost of fixing all of the work done out of pocket, verses the insurance finances they were paid to do the job to begin with.

*** update it is now the end of June and several of the trim pieces are falling off; guessing weren’t clipped in correctly, and tire well is falling off too.

I was only passing through town and my power steering suddenly went out. I brought my truck by the shop and Jody was nice enough to let me know that it was still safe to drive so that I could get to my destination and have the work dealt with locally. while no work was done, Jody gave me peace of mind and an estimate of what a job like mine should cost with another shop. He was very nice and informative. I can only imagine his work is as good as his character.

I was given a quote by another company and on the advice of a client of Hi Tech took my car for a quote, it was half of what l had been given by the other company. When l went to pick it up l couldn't believe how great the repair looked. Amazing !!!
